Hiro Murai Becomes First Asian Director to Win Emmy for Comedy Directing With ‘Widow’s Bay’

Director Hiro Murai has won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for his work on the premiere episode of "Widow’s Bay," titled "Welcome to Widow’s Bay!."

With this victory, achieved on a Monday, Murai made television history by becoming the first Asian director to ever win in the comedy directing category.

Additionally, the milestone makes Murai only the third Asian director to win an Emmy in any category overall.
