HKMA licenses Bakai Bank, city’s first from Central Asia

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) has granted a banking licence to Bakai Bank, a major lender based in Kyrgyzstan. This development marks the first time a Central Asian financial institution has established a presence in Hong Kong.
