Hollywood Hills High School was placed on lockdown Tuesday morning while law enforcement investigated what they called a “potential threat” in the area.A Broward County Public Schools spokesperson told Local 10 News that all students and staff are safe. The school is located at 5400 Stirling Road in Hollywood. Hollywood Police Department officials said officers were conducting an investigation near 56th Avenue and Stirling Road.
Sky 10 flew over the scene at about 9:45 a.m. and observed a heavy police presence on the school campus as officers investigated the area.“Out of an abundance of caution, schools in the immediate area have been placed on lockdown while officers conduct their investigation,” Hollywood police wrote in a statement on Facebook. Authorities asked the public to avoid the area and allow officers to safely carry out their duties.Local 10 News has reached out to the Hollywood Police Department to find out whether any other schools were placed on lockdown.No additional details about the reported threat were immediately released.
