Hundreds missing after flooding in Nepal, including at least one Dutch national

Severe flooding and mudslides along the Bhote Koshi River in the Rasuwa region of Nepal and Tibet have resulted in at least 18 confirmed deaths and hundreds of missing persons. The disaster, captured in footage showing the river overflowing with destructive force, has prompted a large-scale search and rescue operation in the border region.

Nepalese authorities report that 384 tourists are currently missing, including 291 foreign nationals. Among those reported missing is at least one Dutch citizen. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not yet officially confirmed the status of the individual.
