The Humane Society of Broward County is hoping to find forever homes for several animals that have been waiting for their chance at adoption.Among them is Remy, a 5-year-old dog described by shelter staff as sweet, gentle and loving. Remy was surrendered after her family could no longer afford her care. She has allergies that are being managed with medicated baths and periodic injections from a veterinarian.Remy is good with children and is calm around people, but the shelter recommends a meet-and-greet if she would be joining a home with another dog.
She should not live with cats. The shelter also has cats available for adoption, including Dakota, a playful 5-month-old kitten. The Humane Society is hosting its first-ever Fall VIP After Dark mixer, focusing on dogs and cats that have been at the shelter for more than 30 days. .l10-neighborhood, .l10-neighborhood * { box-sizing: border-box; } .l10-neighborhood{ --blue-dark:#0d2c73; --blue:#1f57c4; --blue-light:#3370e6; --gray-bg:#f2f3f5; --gray-border:#d6d8dc; --text-dark:#1a1a1a; --white:#ffffff; font-family:system-ui,-apple-system,"Segoe UI",Roboto,Arial,sans-serif; max-width:860px; margin:1.5rem auto; border-radius:10px; overflow:hidden; border:1px solid var(--gray-border); background:var(--gray-bg); box-shadow:0 4px 14px rgba(0,0,0,.12); text-align:center; } .l10-head{ background:linear-gradient(90deg,var(--blue-dark),var(--blue)); color:var(--white); padding:12px 16px; font-weight:800; text-transform:uppercase; font-size:1rem; letter-spacing:.3px; display:flex; justify-content:center; align-items:center; gap:8px; } .l10-body{ max-width:740px; margin:0 auto; padding:0 16px 18px; } .l10-sub{ margin:12px 0 10px; font-size:.95rem; color:var(--text-dark); font-weight:500; text-align:center; } .l10-grid{ display:grid; grid-template-columns:1fr; gap:12px; } @media (min-width:600px){ .l10-grid{ grid-template-columns:repeat(3,1fr); } } .nb-btn{ display:grid; place-items:center; text-align:center; line-height:1; width:100%; min-height:48px; padding:10px; border-radius:8px; text-decoration:none; font-weight:800; text-transform:uppercase; font-size… A man is facing two federal charges after authorities said he was caught with child sexual abuse videos depicting babies and toddlers after getting off of a flight from the Dominican Republic at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.Trevor Jay Johnston, 39, of Landis, North Carolina, was arrested on Tuesday after arriving at FLL on a JetBlue flight from Punta Cana, according to court documents made public on Thursday.Authorities said customs officers pulled Johnston aside for a border search of his belongings and devices and a search of his Samsung Galaxy cellphone revealed “numerous” disturbing files and chats on messaging app Telegram, along with “numerous payments” made by Johnston for the illicit content.According to a federal criminal complaint, he also had a GIF of child sexual abuse material, as well as screenshots of advertisements offering images and videos for purchase, in his phone’s gallery. The complaint states that Johnston admitted to “receiving and purchasing files” and said “he did it numerous times because of the ‘rush.’”Johnston now faces two federal charges related to the possession and transportation of child sexual abuse material. As of Thursday morning, he was being held in the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail facility on behalf of the U.S.
