ST JAMES, Jamaica — The man accused of fatally chopping his wife before ingesting a poisonous substance has died. The deceased has been identified as 67-year-old Jocelin Wellington. His wife, 62-year-old Marcia Wellington, died on Wednesday.
The husband died on Thursday, hours after his wife succumbed to her injuries. Reports are that the couple had an argument on Wednesday over divorce-related matters. During the dispute, Marcia Wellington was allegedly chopped multiple times, sustaining fatal injuries.
Jocelin Wellington is believed to have ingested a poisonous substance shortly after the incident. The police were summoned to the scene, where Marcia was found lying on a staircase with multiple chop wounds and bleeding profusely. Both individuals were taken to hospital, where Marcia was pronounced dead.
