Ian Crafford, Editor of ‘Hope and Glory,’ ‘Field of Dreams,’ Dies at 82

Ian Crafford, the veteran film editor known for his work on prominent movies such as John Boorman’s “Hope and Glory” and “Field of Dreams,” has died at the age of 82. He passed away on July 22 from cancer at his home in Brazil.

Born in Hemel Hempstead, U.K., Crafford began his career in the film industry at the young age of 17 when he started working at Elstree Studios. He enjoyed the work so much that he chose not to return to school, launching a lifelong career in film editing that eventually led to his involvement in acclaimed international productions.
