Kenya: IEBC Appoints Ruth Kulundu Acting CEO As Search for Substantive Office Holder Enters Final Phase

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in Nairobi has appointed Ruth Kulundu as its Acting Chief Executive Officer and Commission Secretary. Kulundu, who previously served as the Deputy Commission Secretary in charge of Operations, steps into the role following the expiration of the tenure of Moses Ledama Sunkuli, who held the position for six months.

The appointment coincides with the final phase of the commission's search for a substantive, permanent office holder to lead the secretariat. The transition is part of ongoing administrative management at the electoral agency.
