BANGKOK, Thailand (AFP)—The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday raised its forecast for global economic growth in 2026 by 0.1 percentage point to 3.1 per cent, citing "resilience" in the face of high energy costs and other shocks. In its World Economic Outlook report, the Fund left its forecast for 2027 global growth unchanged at 3.4 percent. For the United States, the IMF left its 2026 growth forecast unchanged, but lifted the 2027 projection for GDP growth in the world's largest economy to 2.3 per cent.
