Indonesia keeps several airports closed though volcanic eruption is easing

Indonesian authorities maintained the closure of several airports and transitioned schools to remote learning on Monday, despite signs that the volcanic eruption of Anak Krakatau is beginning to subside. The ongoing volcanic activity, which lasted for 25 hours, has resulted in the cancellation of approximately 2,300 flights and left significant layers of ash across the affected region.
