Indonesia rescuers search for 140 people from stricken ferry

Rescue teams in Indonesia are searching for 140 people who remain missing following a ferry accident in the Java Sea. The vessel, which was carrying more than 240 passengers and crew, had departed from the city of Surabaya before encountering severe weather conditions.

Authorities have confirmed that at least one person has died as a result of the incident. Search and rescue operations are ongoing as officials work to locate the remaining unaccounted-for individuals from the stricken ship.
