Study of psychoactive substance use among drivers begins

The Ministry of Public Health and the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) have launched a national study to detect the presence of psychoactive substances in drivers. The initiative focuses on individuals involved in traffic accidents who receive medical care at trauma hospitals across the Dominican Republic.

This research aims to establish data regarding substance use among drivers following vehicular incidents. By analyzing patients in trauma centers, authorities seek to better understand the role of psychoactive substances in road safety and accident frequency within the country.
