INPE detectó S/4.000 en sandalias, un celular dentro de un peluche y 408 cigarrillos ocultos entre turrones en tres penales

Agents from the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) intercepted three separate attempts to smuggle contraband into prisons located in Arequipa, Lurigancho, and Chiclayo. The seized items included 4,000 soles hidden inside sandals, a cellular phone concealed within a stuffed animal, and 408 cigarettes secreted inside boxes of turrones.

The discovery occurred during routine security screenings at the correctional facilities. These incidents highlight ongoing efforts by prison authorities to prevent the entry of unauthorized goods and currency into the penitentiary system.
