Interceptor 004 on the Ozama River to improve waste capture

The Ocean Cleanup and the Dominican Government have announced plans to install a new waste-capture barrier, the Interceptor 004, in the Ozama River at the beginning of 2027.

Measuring 400 meters in length, the structure will serve as the largest barrier deployed to date by the international organization, aimed at improving waste collection efforts in the waterway.
