Intervention due to illegal constructions on the Yaque del Norte River

The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources intervened in a complex of nine illegal buildings constructed within the 30-meter protection zone of the Yaque del Norte river. The operation took place on a Saturday in the community of La Guázara, located in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic.

In a related enforcement action by the same ministry this week, authorities intervened in separate structures located near the Maimón river in Juan Adrián, Monseñor Nouel. Nelson Batista Ángeles, the owner of one of the targeted properties in that separate Maimón river operation, publicly questioned the official intervention and claimed he possessed proper authorizations for his building.
