Mass poisoning from rotisserie chicken affects 80 people: restaurant closed and supplier fined 2 UIT

An estimated 80 people were affected by a mass food poisoning incident linked to the consumption of rotisserie chicken ("pollo a la brasa") from Pollería Jaimito. Following a formal complaint and consumer evidence regarding health issues suffered by a customer and his three daughters, authorities intervened to close the establishment.

In addition to the closure of the restaurant, the supplier involved was penalized with a fine of 2 UIT (Tax Unit) by Indecopi. The case highlights regulatory enforcement and consumer protection actions taken against food safety violations stemming from the implicated provider and vendor.
