Investigadores descubren una nueva especie de escarabajo en los páramos de Ecuador

Researchers in Ecuador have discovered a new species of beetle in the country's highland moorlands, or páramos, according to an announcement from Guayaquil on September 14. The newly identified insect has been named *Lebia urkumanta*.

The species name is derived from the Kichwa language and translates to "mountain inhabitant." Among its defining physical characteristics, the newly discovered beetle is distinguished by having reduced wings.
