Iran’s Guards say three members killed in US attack on northwest

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that three of its members were killed in a United States attack on July 30, 2026. The casualties occurred in the northwestern province of Zanjan during a strike attributed to the U.S. military, with the IRGC's Ansar al-Mahdi branch identifying the deceased personnel as Mahmoud Mollajabari, Mohammadreza Cheraghi, and Jamal Amiri.

In apparent retaliation, the IRGC stated it launched several ballistic missiles targeting Jordan’s al-Azraq airbase, which hosts U.S. F-35 fighter jets. According to the Iranian military branch, that strike targeted a runway and maintenance hangar and successfully destroyed three U.S. F-35 jets in response to the initial U.S. attack.
