Iran security chief threatens neighbors against new U.S. economic measures

Mohsen Rezaei, Iran's security chief, issued a direct warning to neighboring countries regarding cooperation with new United States economic measures. Speaking amidst escalating regional tensions, Rezaei stated that Iran would classify cooperating neighbors as enemies.

Specifically, Rezaei threatened that Iran would target oil-shipping routes exiting the Persian Gulf, including alternatives to the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that if regional nations join what he termed an economic war against Iran, the country would retaliate by targeting their interests.
