Iran war cost hits $38 billion, forecast to rise $3 billion a month, CBO says

The Congressional Budget Office reported on Tuesday that the six-month-old U.S. conflict with Iran has reached a total cost of $38 billion, with expenditures projected to increase by $3 billion each month going forward.

At the same time, the Trump administration is actively seeking ways to bring the conflict to a close and to reopen the critical Strait of Hormuz.
