Iraq reaches 100,000 LPG converted cars as Parliament urges factory model access

The Gas Filling and Services Company, an affiliate of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, announced on September 26, 2026, that the number of vehicles in Iraq converted to run on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has reached 100,000. This milestone marks a significant expansion in the country's efforts to transition vehicles to alternative fuel sources.

In conjunction with this announcement, the Iraqi Parliament has called for increased access to factory-model LPG vehicles. This legislative push aims to integrate the use of cleaner fuel technologies directly into the automotive manufacturing and import process, moving beyond the current reliance on aftermarket conversions.
