Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraq emerged as the third-largest exporter among Arab countries in 2025, according to data released by the World Trade Organization (WTO). The country’s export volume indicates that the economy of Iraq continues to depend heavily on the exportation of oil, although the amount was less than in the previous year. Iraq’s export volume reached $93 billion in 2025 and was ranked third among Arab exporters.
This figure reflects the continuing importance of Iraqi exports, especially oil, in international trade. The UAE led the list of Arab exporters with exports totaling $707 billion, followed by Saudi Arabia with $311 billion and Iraq with $93 billion. Qatar ranked fourth with $89 billion, while Kuwait secured the fifth position with $72 billion, and Oman followed with $55 billion.
Egypt’s exports hit $51 billion, Morocco’s $50 billion, Algeria’s $45 billion, and Libya ranked tenth with $30 billion. The results indicate that Gulf countries continue to lead as the largest Arab exporters, largely supported by their oil and gas exports. Meanwhile, Iraq has sustained its status among the top exporters, primarily due to oil shipments, which constitute the bulk of its export activities.
