Iringa takes proactive measures against El Niño

Iringa Municipality has initiated proactive disaster mitigation efforts in response to forecasted El Niño rains. The local Disaster Management Committee convened on Wednesday to evaluate the region's readiness and identify infrastructure requiring attention.

As part of these preparations, municipal authorities are conducting inspections of bridges, drainage systems, and residential areas identified as flood-prone. These measures aim to minimize potential damage and protect vulnerable settlements from the impact of heavy precipitation.
