Israel Returns Stolen Greek Artefacts as Athens Intensifies Parthenon Sculptures Campaign

On October 13, Israel returned 22 ancient Greek artefacts that had been illegally removed from Greece, marking the first repatriation of cultural objects between the two nations. The handover ceremony took place at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens and was attended by Greek Culture Minister Lina Mendoni.

The repatriation coincides with an intensified campaign by Athens for the return of the Parthenon Sculptures, highlighting ongoing efforts by the Greek government to recover displaced cultural heritage from international institutions and foreign states.
