Italy extends travel controls from Spain for another 15 days due to the Ceuta crisis

The Italian government has extended the suspension of the Schengen agreement for travelers arriving from Spain for an additional 15 days. This decision, announced by the Italian Ministry of Interior, mandates continued border controls at ports and airports for individuals entering Italy from Spanish territory.

In a reciprocal move, Spain has also maintained its suspension of the Schengen agreement regarding Italy, enforcing similar border controls on travelers arriving from the Italian state until September 7. These measures follow a period of heightened border scrutiny linked to the recent crisis in Ceuta.
