James H. Rosenfield, Sr., Former Executive VP of CBS Broadcast Group, Dies at 97

James H. Rosenfield, Sr., a former top executive at CBS who helped build the network into a cultural powerhouse, died on September 26 at the age of 97. He was born on July 18, 1929.

During his two decades at CBS, Rosenfield served as president of the CBS Television Network and executive vice president of the CBS Broadcast Group. Mentored by network founder William S. Paley, his tenure coincided with a period that produced acclaimed programming such as “All in the Family,” “M*A*S*H,” and “60 Minutes.”
