Javi López (S&D): The 2028-34 European budget needs large allocations for industry and security

European Parliament Vice President Javi López, representing the S&D group, stated that the upcoming 2028-2034 European multi-annual financial framework requires significant budget allocations for industrial policy and defense-security. López emphasized the necessity of these major funding lines to address future economic and security demands at the European level.

In a separate domestic administrative development, the Bureau of the Spanish Congress is scheduled to approve a chamber budget of 123.67 million euros for the year 2027. This represents a twelve percent increase compared to the 110.42 million euro budget maintained since 2023, following prior obstacles to passing new spending plans.
