JCF distances itself from fake wage negotiation poster circulating on social media

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and the Jamaica Police Federation say a poster being circulated on social media and other digital platforms concerning the ongoing wage negotiations between the Government and police is unauthorised and misrepresents the ongoing process. In a statement on Friday, the police said the poster does not originate from either the JCF or the Police Federation, stressing that neither organisation is associated with its creation or circulation, and the source of the material is unknown. “The Police Federation remains engaged in the established negotiation process and is committed to arriving at an amicable agreement that protects the interests of its members while taking account of the wider interests of the Jamaican people,” the statement read.

Members of the Force, the media and the public are being asked not to attribute the poster or its contents to the JCF or the Police Federation, and to rely on established official channels for information concerning the negotiations.
