Jetstar to charge passengers up to $52 to put baggage in overhead lockers

Beginning next year, Jetstar will implement a new fee structure for carry-on luggage, charging passengers up to $52 to stow bags in overhead lockers. Under the new policy, passengers will be restricted to one small bag that must fit under the seat at no additional cost.

The airline stated that the policy change is intended to address passenger difficulties in finding available overhead locker space, which it identified as a stressful component of the airport experience.
