This recommendation coincides with data from the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, which reported that Spanish households wasted 1,101.8 million kilograms of food in 2025. The guidance serves as a practical measure to address the broader issue of food waste, which remains a significant concern for the sector.
