Juan Manuel Méndez appointed by Abinader to head Intrant

Dominican President Luis Abinader appointed retired Major General Juan Manuel Méndez García as the new executive director of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (Intrant). The appointment, announced on Sunday, follows the resignation of the previous director, Milton Morrison.

In a related personnel change announced on the same day, President Abinader also appointed Carlos Manuel Paulino Cárdenas as the new executive director of Civil Defense. Paulino Cárdenas replaces Juan Cesario Salas Rosario under a decree issued on Sunday, August 16, 2026.
