President Arévalo graduates 287 prison guards to strengthen control in prisons

Guatemalan President Bernardo Arévalo presided over the graduation of 287 new penitentiary guards. The ceremony marks a strategic effort by the administration to strengthen security and oversight within the national prison system.

As part of this initiative, the president announced that the maximum-security facility known as El Triunfo is scheduled to become operational by 2027. This infrastructure project is intended to curb the influence of criminal organizations operating within the country's correctional institutions.
