Kangwa suspension cost Zambia – Musonda

Zambia national football team legend Charles Musonda has attributed the team's 3-1 loss to Algeria in the opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier to the absence of midfielder Kings Kangwa. The match took place at the Hocine Aït Ahmed Stadium on Friday.

Kangwa, who currently plays for the Greek club Panathinaikos, was ineligible for the fixture due to a Confederation of African Football (CAF) suspension. The disciplinary action resulted from the accumulation of two yellow cards in previous matches, leaving the Chipolopolo squad without a key player for the tournament opener.
