The Ministry of Social Affairs is investigating findings of social assistance recipients suspected of being cheats.

The Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) is currently investigating findings that indicate over 1.4 million social assistance (bansos) recipients may be involved in online gambling. The investigation focuses on the potential misuse of the national identity card (KTP) data associated with these beneficiaries.

This inquiry follows reports identifying a significant number of data entries linked to gambling activities. The ministry is working to verify the accuracy of these findings and determine the extent to which recipient information has been compromised or misused in relation to social welfare programs.
