Airin Waas, Chairperson of the Regional National Crafts Council (Dekranasda) of Medan, North Sumatra, stated that involving designers is essential for expanding the market for local traditional textiles (wastra).

Speaking on the initiative, she emphasized that designer involvement plays a strategic role in developing the local craft industry and increasing the reach of regional textiles.
