Maritime data firm Kpler reported a sharp decline in vessel traffic through the Strait of Hormuz on August 31. Confirmed crossings dropped by 50 percent to five, down from a daily average of ten previously recorded.

Of the recorded activity, four vessels successfully entered the Middle East Gulf. In contrast, traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb strait remained stable during the same period, according to the data provider.
