KSAMC declares four Kingston locations sterile areas for outdoor advertising

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has announced that no approvals will be granted for billboards or other forms of outdoor advertising at four designated locations across Kingston and St Andrew, effective October 1. The corporation said the areas have been designated “sterile (no-signs) areas” as part of efforts to promote road safety and maintain an orderly and visually appealing city. The affected locations are: Matilda’s Corner: Old Hope Road, Hope Road and Barbican Road intersection Old Hope Road: Mountain View Avenue and Seaview Avenue intersection Shortwood Road and Upper Waterloo Road intersection West King’s House Road and Constant Spring Road intersection According to the public notice, permits will not be approved for billboards or other forms of outdoor advertising at the specified locations.

The KSAMC is encouraging stakeholders with questions about the measure to contact the corporation through its offices at 24 Church Street, Kingston, or via complianceunit@ksamc.gov.jm. Individuals may contact 876-967-4185 extensions 289, 296 and 299.
