The Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) has warned that the potential cancellation of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Salvadorans could separate more than 150,000 U.S.-citizen children from their families. The TPS program for Salvadorans reaches its deadline on September 9.

As of the deadline, the Department of Security Nation has not published a formal determination regarding the renewal of the status. This lack of action leaves more than 232,000 individuals in an uncertain legal situation.
