Madrid declares the fire in the Sierra Oeste under control and allows residents to return.

On August 4, authorities in the Community of Madrid declared the wildfires in the Sierra Oeste region to be under control and in the extinction phase. The blazes had previously impacted 17 municipalities across the area, prompting emergency responses.

Following the downgrade of the situation, residents who had been displaced are now permitted to return to their homes. The regional government also lowered the emergency classification to Operational Situation 0 under the Special Civil Protection Plan for Emergencies.
