The Community of Madrid will sell the controversial penthouse in Chamberí and allocate the money to those affected by the fires in the region.

The Government of the Community of Madrid announced that it will put up for sale a controversial penthouse located in the Chamberí district. The property had been acquired in April to serve as a temporary office during the remodeling of the Real Casa de Correos.

The proceeds from the sale, alongside several other properties, are slated to be directed toward supporting victims and funding reconstruction efforts following recent regional wildfires, with the total operation estimated to generate approximately 20 million euros.

Government spokesperson Miguel Ángel García Martín stated that instructions have been given to the company Planifica Madrid to initiate the sale process.
