Conred responds to 1,733 rain-related emergencies and reports 202,771 people affected in eight departments of Guatemala

Guatemala's disaster relief agency, Conred, reported addressing 1,733 emergencies related to the ongoing rainy season as of September 26. The severe weather has impacted 202,771 people across eight departments in the country.

In addition to the widespread displacement and affected population, the seasonal rains have resulted in 18 fatalities. The adverse weather conditions have also caused significant structural damage to homes, roads, bridges, schools, and various public buildings throughout the affected regions.
