Hundreds of migrants are returning to Morocco at a steady pace after a mass entry into Spain

On Saturday, the border between Morocco and the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta returned to normalcy following an unprecedented crisis that erupted on Thursday. The disruption was triggered when more than 60,000 migrants entered the territory irregularly.

The events centered around the crossing between the Moroccan border town of Fnideq—historically known as Castillejos in Spanish—and Ceuta. The sudden and massive movement of people created a severe diplomatic and humanitarian challenge for the region before authorities stabilized the situation over the weekend.
