Costa Rica creates specialized police group to strengthen anti-drug efforts in its ports

Costa Rica has established a specialized police unit known as the Grupo Táctico Portuario (GRUTAP) to enhance its security measures against drug trafficking and transnational organized crime within the country's ports. The newly formed tactical group is tasked with reinforcing surveillance, prevention, and intervention efforts as part of a broader national strategy to combat illicit drug operations.

Separately, specialists gathered at an event titled 'Modo Compliance' to discuss current trends and challenges in compliance, corporate governance, and risk management. The conference served as a recognized platform for professionals to exchange perspectives on institutional integrity and organizational strategy.
