The Nicaraguan opposition in exile seeks to increase international pressure against Ortega and initiate a political transition

A coalition of roughly ten exiled Nicaraguan opposition organizations has sent a letter to the Organization of American States (OEA) to warn of a deepening crisis and request a coordinated international response. The diplomatic push follows recent remarks by President Daniel Ortega confirming that there will be no future elections in Nicaragua.

Exiled opposition leaders in Costa Rica stated that Ortega's announcement merely reaffirmed the complete dismantling of democracy in the country. Their current international advocacy aims to increase global pressure against the Ortega administration and pave the way for a future political transition.
