They stole vehicles to sell the parts in Mar del Plata: the end of the “Fat Leo gang”

The Buenos Aires Provincial Police conducted a series of raids in Mar del Plata targeting a criminal organization known as the "Gordo Leo" gang. The operation focused on dismantling a network involved in the theft of vehicles and the subsequent illegal sale of their parts. Authorities successfully recovered six vehicles, including cars and trucks, and detained two suspects in connection with the crimes.

Separately, the Argentine automotive industry reported a rebound in production, exports, and wholesale sales during August compared to July. Despite this monthly improvement, industry indicators remain below the levels recorded in August 2025, with export figures being the only metric to show growth in the cumulative data for the first eight months of the year.
