The reform of the National Police in the National Congress

The National Congress of the Dominican Republic is seeking a second opportunity to approve the proposed reform of the National Police. The legislative initiative failed to complete its required process during the previous legislative term and ultimately expired after eight months of discussion, despite prior agreements.

The measure, which had been previously submitted for legislative review, represents a renewed effort by lawmakers to advance the police modernization agenda following the previous failure to enact the bill.
