The drought leaves Puerto Rico counting drops of water

Puerto Rico is currently experiencing one of its most severe water crises in the past decade due to an intensifying drought. The situation has severely impacted the territory, leading to water rationing measures.

By late July, the drought conditions affected approximately 60 percent of Puerto Rico's territory. In response to the escalating crisis, the government declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard.
