Labour asks Electoral Commission to investigate Reform UK over donations

The Labour Party has formally asked the Electoral Commission to investigate Reform UK over potential breaches of donation rules. The referral follows recent investigative revelations published by the Guardian regarding funding connected to convicted fraudster George Cottrell.

In response to the inquiry, Reform UK’s Robert Jenrick stated that the party is confident it followed all applicable rules at the time the donations were received. The Electoral Commission will now determine whether a formal investigation is warranted based on the available evidence.
