The 30 beluga whales at Marineland Canada are saved from euthanasia and two of them are being prepared to be transferred to Spain.

Following the 2024 closure of the Marineland zoo in Niagara Falls, Ontario, the future of its 30 beluga whales has been secured, preventing their planned euthanasia. The animals, whose status had remained uncertain since the facility ceased operations, are now being relocated.

As part of this transition, two of the belugas are currently being prepared for transport to Spain. This move marks a significant development in the resolution of the welfare concerns surrounding the animals left at the Canadian park.
