The commander-in-chief of the SDF announces the dissolution of the Kurdish-Arab militia following the agreement with Damascus

Mazloum Abdi, commander-in-chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), announced on Tuesday the formal dissolution of the Kurdish-Arab militia as an independent military entity. The decision follows an integration agreement signed in late January between the SDF and the Syrian government in Damascus.

This move marks the complete incorporation of the SDF’s military structure into the official Syrian army. The dissolution signifies the end of the militia's status as an autonomous force, effectively concluding a distinct phase of the conflict through its merger with state military institutions.
